Spiralite ductwork saves energy, cuts costs and reduces environmental impact. It’s a very clear message which has now been embraced by an increasing number of project consultants around the world, by the UK Green Building Council and international sustainability certification organisations.
BREEAM have awarded Spiralite credits in two categories, Embodied Impact and Responsible Sourcing. Spiralite is also recognised within BREEAM for its exemplary performance defined as ‘innovative’ building technology.
Whilst sustainability is built in to the process, planning and compliance of new build projects, Spiralite also delivers significant advantages on refurbishment and retrofit projects as it is 25-40% more energy efficient and 80% lighter than steel duct and lagging. As such, it is much easier to transport and install, with minimal disruption in occupied buildings and greater installation flexibility. Spiralite Insulation is based on the same technology and, where ductwork is not being replaced but only insulated, it can greatly improve the thermal performance of the existing system.
