Spiralite has become the preferred choice for external ductwork with a number of contractors and their clients. The ducting is particularly suitable for these exposed, less accessible areas as a 3-in-1 application – the ducting, the insulation and the weatherproofing completed in one installation.
When an additional laminate is added to the pre-insulated ductwork for weatherproofing, the ducting is very robust and there have been no incidents of damage when installed on roofs or elsewhere. In fact, many companies have specified that they only want Spiralite ductwork on their roofs due to its quality, performance and longevity.
One example of this is M&S (above), where we used our flat oval and circular ducting with a VentureTape weatherproof laminate on the roof of a store in Lincoln. This solution was very well received by M&S who have benefitted from the speed, cost and quality derived from this alternative to the traditional 5-sided ducting. Furthermore, both the main contractor and mechanical contractor were also complimentary about the significant time saving and reduced site logistics, which saved both direct and indirect costs on the job and had a meaningful impact on programme time.
