Moist or chemically hostile atmospheres

Spiralite ductwork is ideally suited to a moist or chemically hostile environment such as swimming pools and leisure centres. The outer and inner layers are chemical resistant and do not deteriorate in quality or performance as the core phenolic insulation panel (KoolDuct) is greater than 90% closed cell and offers resistance to damage from moisture. Unlike metal ductwork, Spiralite does not have to be specially treated before installation and ensures a high quality and very cost effective option.

  • Impervious to damage from moisture
  • Chlorine resistant – no corrosion or other staining
  • Only jointing system needs treating
  • Chemical resistant VentureClad finish available
  • No product deterioration over time
  • No untreated galvanized fittings to corrode
  • Great aesthetics – both in the regular finish and with additional laminates
  • Virtually maintenance free
  • ≥ 90% closed cell structure, non-porous and non-wicking
  • Research has shown that 1% moisture content by volume in mineral fibre can increase the thermal conductivity by 36-107% (i.e. increases the U values or thermal losses)

Spiralite optimises the air quality and minimises humidity in the treated air which is vital for all occupants. The internal laminate also ensures optimal cleanliness of the system and makes it easier to clean and maintain in accordance with the good practice guideline requirements of TR19.
